Payment options for supporting Jeff Casey

Hi everyone.

Irv and I have set up a joint bank account to collect all the money from our class (and anyone else). The money collected is in support of Jeff Casey and his fundraising effort for the resource room for cancer patients at the Windsor hospital http://caseylibero.blogspot.com/2008/12/shirt-sale.html

Here is the info on where to send cheques or electronically transfer your financial support.

Option 1: International classmates (outside the US)- Certified cheque

I'm not sure that I can cash international cheques so probably the best route is a certified cheque from your local financial institution. A bit of an extra step and much appreciated. Please send to:
Super Casey Fundraiser
c/o Marc Morin
Suite 240, 55 Metcalfe St.
Ottawa, ON K1P 6L5

Don't forget to include your t-shirt size, how many you'd like as well as a mailing address to send them to.

Option 2: In person

Go to ANY Royal Bank in Canada and ask to deposit whatever amount into Account 5039391 @ transit 9277 at Institution 003 (Royal Bank). Once complete, email me immediately for confirmation of receipt and with your t-shirt size, how many you'd like as well as a mailing address to send them to.

Option 3: By Cheque (including US accounts)

Send a cheque made out to Marc Morin and Jeff Ruhl to

Super Casey Fundraiser
c/o Marc Morin
Suite 240, 55 Metcalfe St.
Ottawa, ON K1P 6L5

Please include your shirt size and how many you'd like, as well as a mailing address to send them to.

Option 4: Email transfer from internet banking.

If you bank with one of the Big 5 and likely most others, you will have an option withing your internet banking platform to do an email or Interac transfer. You may be able to transfer directly to the account mentioned above (Royal Bank Account 5039391 @ transit 9277 at institution 003 (Royal Bank)).

Otherwise, you can send it to my email address at marc.morin@colliers.com . You will be asked if you want to send a message along with it. In the message section, please include your shirt size and how many you'd like, as well as a mailing address to send them to.

Thanks very much for your support. We're going to try to present this to Jeff in late February so please send in your support as quickly as possible so that we can give him a big t-shirt order at the same time. It would be great if we can hang on to the t-shirts and get a big group picture together at our 15 year reunion next May!
*************************************************************************************
Reminder that the t-shirts are $40 each with most of the proceeds going to the resource room. Many are donating something above the $40 and some are not asking for a t-shirt but are supporting with whatever they can. Either way, all support is very much appreciated.

***Sign up for automatic email updates to Jeff's blog to keep tabs on how he's doing and support him in his recovery.***

Please feel free to contact either myself, Irv (jeffrey.ruhl@gmail.com) or Sheila B (sheilabryson@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

***PS - Please leave any comments of encouragement for Jeff below. I'll put them together for him when we present the class gift and I'm sure the thoughts will be very appreciated.

Here's a copy of the email that we sent out regarding the fundraiser...

Sheila B, Irv and I are reaching out to members of our TCS class to ask for the support of one of our TCS classmates who is going through a tough time right now. I'm not sure if you've heard that Jeff Casey was diagnosed with Follicular Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (Cancer) earlier this year, in fact the day after he and his wife welcomed their first baby into the world. Given all the excitement of his new family and the great shape he's in, I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn that he is fighting hard. He's keeping an amazing blog and you can catch up on his story and subscribe to receive updates here:http://caseylibero.blogspot.com/

Jeff is in treatment and has good days and bad, but through it all he remains selfless and is trying to raise money to help build two resource rooms for the cancer center where he is spending a lot of his time. He shared that there is currently a pathetic library and no computers. The computers that he hopes to put into these resource centers will direct people to specific, reputable websites that have valid information and hopefully printers available to print whatever they need.

In order to raise money for this effort, Jeff is selling some t-shirts that are amazingly tongue-in-cheek, you have to love his sense of humour in the face of what he's dealing with! See more info on the t-shirts here (they are $40 each):http://caseylibero.blogspot.com/2008/12/shirt-sale.html andhttp://caseylibero.blogspot.com/2008/12/t-shirt-update.html .

It's the holiday season and we feel it's a great time for our class to come together. Would you be willing to buy one t-shirt (or more) or even just make a donation to his cause? We're hoping for a donation of $40 from each classmate and if you'd like a T-shirt, just let us know what size. We are planning to do a tally of how much money our class is able to raise to present it to Jeff.

I believe that Casey would do this for any one of us if the roles were reversed, and I hope you feel as passionately about showing him our support as a class as we do. Won't it be great to show up at our 15 year reunion next year and celebrate his recovery?

Looking forward to hearing back from you. We're trying to set up a bank account that everyone can just electronically donate to so let me know ASAP if you can help out and I will give you details on where to send a cheque or email transfer if you are able to help out.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Marc
