Original email for Jeff's Fundraiser

Here's a copy of the email that we sent out regarding the fundraiser...

Sheila B, Irv and I are reaching out to members of our TCS class to ask for the support of one of our TCS classmates who is going through a tough time right now. I'm not sure if you've heard that Jeff Casey was diagnosed with Follicular Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (Cancer) earlier this year, in fact the day after he and his wife welcomed their first baby into the world. Given all the excitement of his new family and the great shape he's in, I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn that he is fighting hard. He's keeping an amazing blog and you can catch up on his story and subscribe to receive updates here:http://caseylibero.blogspot.com/

Jeff is in treatment and has good days and bad, but through it all he remains selfless and is trying to raise money to help build two resource rooms for the cancer center where he is spending a lot of his time. He shared that there is currently a pathetic library and no computers. The computers that he hopes to put into these resource centers will direct people to specific, reputable websites that have valid information and hopefully printers available to print whatever they need.

In order to raise money for this effort, Jeff is selling some t-shirts that are amazingly tongue-in-cheek, you have to love his sense of humour in the face of what he's dealing with! See more info on the t-shirts here (they are $40 each):http://caseylibero.blogspot.com/2008/12/shirt-sale.html andhttp://caseylibero.blogspot.com/2008/12/t-shirt-update.html .

It's the holiday season and we feel it's a great time for our class to come together. Would you be willing to buy one t-shirt (or more) or even just make a donation to his cause? We're hoping for a donation of $40 from each classmate and if you'd like a T-shirt, just let us know what size. We are planning to do a tally of how much money our class is able to raise to present it to Jeff.

I believe that Casey would do this for any one of us if the roles were reversed, and I hope you feel as passionately about showing him our support as a class as we do. Won't it be great to show up at our 15 year reunion next year and celebrate his recovery?

Looking forward to hearing back from you. We're trying to set up a bank account that everyone can just electronically donate to so let me know ASAP if you can help out and I will give you details on where to send a cheque or email transfer if you are able to help out.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Marc
